Startup Weekend is a volunteer based organization and this event could not be possible without you. The attendees, sponsors, volunteers, speakers, mentors and people in the community that promoted this event.
First and foremost the attendees were awesome. Yes, you. The attendees brought a new level of energy to Startup Weekend Chicago. Thank you so much to everyone that came pitched your idea, joined teams and built companies over the weekend.
Second our sponsors, this event is fully funded by the local community (tickets and sponsors). Every dollar raised helps to make this a better event. Thank you so much to ShareASale, Momentum, Stevens and Associates, Hyde Park Angels, Excelerate Labs, Flyover Geeks, Beyond the Pedway, Technori, Chicago Tweetups, Illinois Technology Association, Girls in Tech, Lab 42, Obtiva, Saper Law, Chicago Startup Foundry, Lakeshore Branding, ChicagoBluePrints.com, ShuiTea and Wow Bao. Patronize these sponsors, make sure you support them- they support the Chicago startup community.
Our judges came in on Sunday evening and donated their time to come out to watch the final presentations. They had a chance to see first hand the passion and hardwork the teams completed over the weekend. The judges were Katherine Reid from Obtiva, Todd Paul from Alan Mitchell & Associates, Ira Weiss from Hyde Park Angels, Fred Hoch president of the ITA, John Sheehan of Twilio, Michael Lyons from Excelerate Labs & Edward Domain from Flyover Geeks.
Finally all the volunteers. Mark Bertrand continues to push the limit of the event and made this the best Startup Weekend I have attended. (and yes I have been to ones in other cities) My business partner Ryan Powszok and team member Brandon Zeman, Morgan Hartley, Swathy Prithivi and Patrick Iwanicki. These volunteers spent countless hours to prepare, promote and run this event.
Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again soon! I hear Startup Weekend #4 is already in the works.
